Our environmental policy

Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc., a known leader in the automotive industry has established corporate initiatives to protect the environment and endeavors to achieve exemplary environmental performance.

Integral to this policy and to becoming an environmental leader, MBC is committed to:

  • Continual improvement and prevention of pollution
  • Compliance with all applicable legal and other requirements related to our environmental aspects
  • Improving waste diversion through waste reduction, reuse and recycling initiatives
  • Implementing reasonable measures to conserve natural resources wherever economically and technically feasible
  • Ensuring operational controls, including environmental training and procedures are in place to protect the environment
  • Encouraging the use of environmental management systems by our key suppliers and contractors
  • Establishing and regularly reviewing environmental objectives and targets to measure and improve our environmental performance.

ISO Certification

Mercedes-Benz Canada (MBC) understands that with privilege comes responsibility to people and the environment. MBC's responsibility begins at home at its Head Office in Toronto by focusing on making a positive contribution to the neighborhood where we live and work. Our environmental commitments are recognized as meeting the requirements of ISO14001:2004.

ISO14001:2004 sets out internationally adopted and accepted requirements for the responsible management of processes which lead to improved environmental performance and the reduction of pollution. This is validated through an independent third party auditing body that indicates MBC has improved its environmental performance and more importantly has developed the internal processes to ensure continued improvement.

It is through this initiative that MBC has reduced energy usage and waste disposal and ultimately its ecological footprint. With a vision to be a leader in environmental stewardship, MBC is looking to apply these same principles to the rest of the company Canada wide.
