Brace yourself. Pure electric exhilaration is coming with the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Marking the world’s first electric passenger vehicle built on the AMG.EA high-performance electric architecture, this coupe roars with ferocious power and is encased in a highly stylized design.
Let’s start with the innovative AMG.EA. This newly developed electric drive concept pairs three axial-flux motors — two on the rear axle, one at the front — with a high-performance battery for astounding endurance and power. First tested in the CONCEPT AMG GT XX at the Nardò Ring in Italy, AMG.EA’s capability rang proof positive with a cool 40,000 km sprint. Over the course of seven days and 13 hours, this vehicle left 25 previously held long-distance records in its wake.
Off the track and on the road, your journey is led by a command centre enthusiastic for pavement. Set the stage with the AMG RACE ENGINEER Control Unit offering three driving dynamic controllers: Response, Agility and Traction. These are designed with an eye-catching chain-link aesthetic and respond to your touch with haptic capabilities. Two displays — one oriented for the driver, the second for the passenger — offer razor-sharp AMG-specific graphics for maximum readability and convenience. Activate AMGFORCE S+ mode for a simulated sonic spectrum of V8 sports car driving.
Extremes emerge in the design as well. The silhouette of this beast underscores its sole motivation: performance of the highest order. Its shape presents an aerodynamic sportiness with a long, low-slung front hood, derived directly from motorsport designs. The AMG-specific vertical slat grille and Mercedes Star are optionally illuminated for the first time. Its wide wheelbase and shoulder line emphasize the epic sportiness within. And with a body that sits on a powerful, black-gloss base, its ultimate expression is achieved.
