4MATIC fully variable all-wheel drive
<p>A specially engineered version of 4MATIC can automatically send from zero to 100% of the engine's torque to either axle, front or rear. A transfer case with a multi-disc clutch can vary the torque distribution based on the driving conditions in the moment. While this allows for precise response to varying surfaces and individual-wheel traction off-road and in inclement weather, it can also enhance handling in any season by favourably influencing the vehicle's rotation.</p>
Active Lane Change Assist
<p>When cruising with DISTRONIC engaged, this innovation can allow the driver to execute a lane change simply by activating a turn signal for a sufficient number of seconds. The system is designed to sense when you're travelling on a multilane highway, and whether the area across the dashed lane marking is clear for a lane-change, then precisely steer into the adjacent lane.</p>
Multicontour front seats with massage
<p>Pneumatically adjustable lumbar and side supports offer custom-tailored comfort. Eight massage programs can soothe and rejuvenate your back and shoulders, including two spa-like "hot stone" massages, plus an "active workout" program to help strengthen your back and leg muscles. Luxury front head restraints are included as well.</p>
THERMOTRONIC 4-zone climate control
<p>Four individual zones offer personalized comfort to each side of the front cabin, the second row, and the third row. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes sun and humidity sensors, a dust/pollen filter, and an activated charcoal filter that automatically recirculates cabin air upon detecting a significant increase in smog. The in-dash controls can adjust all zones, while a 2nd-row panel can also adjust the rear cabin.</p>
Power-folding 50/50-split 3rd-row seats
<p>The 50/50-split 3rd-row seats in the GLS can be individually folded flat in less than five seconds at the touch of a button. When used in combination with the standard power-folding 2nd-row seats, this standard appointment gives you easy access to nearly 2,400 litres of cargo space. A single button in the cargo area lets you fold down all the rear seats with one touch.</p>
